HALELINK INC.
Keeping healthcare going,
even when disaster strikes.
HALELINK is an Okayama University venture based in Okayama, Japan. We make medical resources visible, so that hospitals and communities can work more efficiently every day and keep providing care in a disaster.
A society where healthcare and communities are resilient to disasters and full of hope.
From the “Land of Sunshine,” connecting to the future.
THE CHALLENGE
Six risks that can stop medical care in a disaster
When disaster strikes, hospitals can face all of these at the same time.
The root cause: medical resources are not visible.
OUR APPROACH
Turning the invisible into decisions
We visualize the information needed for decision-making, supporting both efficiency in normal times and continuity in emergencies.
We measure what is used, where and how much, and use this data to understand and optimize medical resources.
We help hospitals improve efficiency and reduce costs day to day, and turn that same foundation into strength when disaster strikes.
We connect hospitals, local governments, companies and residents so that the whole region can support medical care together.
Based on resource data, we design BCPs and drills tailored to each hospital, so staff know what to prioritize and can act without hesitation.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
What “HALE” stands for
Our name combines “Hare no Kuni” (the Land of Sunshine, a nickname for Okayama) and “Link.” Each letter of HALE represents what we work toward.
Keeping medical care running in disasters and reducing preventable deaths.
Data-driven healthcare management, developed together with universities and research institutions.
Visualizing power, water, medical gas and information to build infrastructure that does not stop.
Developing people and creating places where healthcare workers and young people can take on new challenges.

Solving problems in healthcare through research, and turning the answers into systems that work in society.
As a clinical engineer, I have worked in emergency and intensive care, caring for patients and the medical devices that keep them alive. Through disaster medicine and infectious disease response, I came to see that many of the problems lie in the systems that support healthcare itself.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we lacked equipment, staff and places to send patients. No one knew where resources were, and care could not reach those who needed it. Frontline staff did everything they could, but this was a structural problem that individual effort alone could not solve.
Changing that structure requires more than research. It needs someone to actually drive collaboration between industry, academia, government and communities. I founded HALELINK to take on that role. As a university researcher, I identify the problems; through HALELINK, I put the solutions into practice.
Our goal is a region where the right care reaches the right place, and where everyone working in healthcare can take pride in their work. We are working toward that goal from Okayama, the Land of Sunshine.
